House

The property, being as old as it is, must have an old house. But by old I do not mean run down and shabby oh no it is quite the opposite from that. A Victorian style house it is said to have been standing over a hundred years. Over the years it has been renovated to safety standards though has never been torn down. A set of five steps leads up to the elegant wrap around porch which in turn leads to the door. Big and made out of heavy, polished oak with a "gold" knocker and handle to match. Inside there is a 6 by 6 room filled with "gold" hooks (many of which are un-used) for hanging coats. Thus the name 'a coat room'. Now is when the house gets truly amazing, it is as if time had stood still. Of course many areas of the house had been modernized but when you first stepped inside it was like stepping back inside. A parlor laid out with many rich colors with a wide staircase going up to the second floor. Most of the floor is made up of dark hard wood though each individual step has a rich red piece of vintage carpeting. Rugs much the same are laid out over the upstairs hall ways where all of the doors are big and heavy. Some of the rooms looked equally as old as the rest of the 'heritage house' but some had been modernized to suit their occupants. The second floor is like a wrap around balcony open in the center to look down at the ground floor. At either end of the hallway there is a stair case both like the main stairs though not quite as wide. And leading up near the center of the hall way, shut behind a closed door, is a narrow set. It is plain and steep and in the days of the houses prime probably would of been used by a maid. The second floor contained a study, small trophy room and a large library like room. Whilst the third floor contained all of the bedrooms. The kitchen, dinning room and sitting room are all on the first floor. It is a big, old heritage house set on a big old ranch that the Barnette family was lucky to find many years prior.
